Today was my last full day in Thailand. From the moment I woke up, it was already there in the back of my mind.
Knowing you’re leaving changes everything. Even the normal moments feel different.
We didn’t rush into the day. Just took it slow. Stayed around, talked, and tried to enjoy the time without thinking too much about what was coming next. But it’s always there.
At some point, you start noticing the small things more. The way the light looks, the sounds around you, even simple conversations. You know it’s temporary, and that makes everything feel a bit more intense.
In the evening, we went to Wongamat Beach. That felt like the right place to end the day.
The beach was calm. Not crowded, just a few people around. The sound of the water, the warm air, and the light slowly fading. We sat there for a while without saying much. Sometimes you don’t need to.
Those moments say enough on their own.
Looking out over the sea, it’s hard not to think about everything at once. The time spent here, the routines we built, and the fact that it’s coming to an end again.
We’ve done this before, leaving and coming back. But that doesn’t make it easier.
Still, there’s something that helps. Knowing this isn’t permanent. Knowing there’s already a next time planned.
That makes a difference.
As the sun went down, we stayed a bit longer. No rush to leave, even though we knew we had to.
Back at home, everything felt quiet. Like the day was slowly closing on its own.
Tomorrow is travel again. Airport, flight, and back to the Netherlands.
But for now, this was the last evening. Just sitting by the sea, doing nothing special, but knowing it mattered.
And that’s enough.
