After an 11-hour flight, we finally landed in Bangkok.
The flight itself was smooth. Long, but manageable. A bit of sleep here and there, some food, and before you know it, you’re descending into Thailand.
Stepping out of the plane is always the first real moment.
Even inside the airport, you already feel it. The temperature, the humidity. It’s a different kind of heat, and it hits you straight away.
Passport control was surprisingly fast this time. No long waiting, just moving through step by step. Within a short time, I had my luggage and was walking into the arrivals hall.
That’s where things slow down again.
The place was packed. People everywhere. Families, drivers holding signs, tourists trying to find their way. And somewhere in that crowd, Noi.
At first, I couldn’t see her. We tried calling and figuring out where to meet. One spot, then another. It took a few minutes, but it felt longer.
Then suddenly, there she was.
That moment always stands out. After time apart, everything else fades for a second. Just that one moment of seeing each other again.
After that, everything feels easier.
We took a bit of time, just standing there, talking, letting it sink in that we’re finally in the same place again.
Then it was back to practical things. Exchanging money, getting ready to leave the airport.
Stepping outside is the second real moment.
The heat hits harder than inside. Full sun, warm air, no escape. Still wearing travel clothes didn’t help. Within minutes, you feel it.
Noi quickly arranged a ride using Bolt, and not long after, we were in the car heading towards Sukhumvit.
The drive into the city is always interesting. Traffic, motorbikes everywhere, buildings, lights, everything moving. It feels busy, but it works.
You sit there, a bit tired from the flight, but also fully aware that you’re back.
At the hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 31, everything slowed down again. Check-in, getting to the room, and finally sitting down.
That’s the moment it really starts.
Looking back, it was a typical arrival day. Flight, airport, taxi, hotel.
But the important part is always the same.
Being there again. And being together.
