A Day of Food in Pattaya. From Iced Coffee to Durian

Today was one of those days where everything revolves around food. No big plans, just moving through Pattaya and stopping whenever something looked good.

We started the day at Young Daily on Beach Road with an iced coffee. It’s one of those simple spots where you can just sit and watch the city. Traffic passing by, people walking, everything moving while you slow down for a bit. The coffee was cold, strong, and exactly what you need in that heat.

After that, we headed into one of the shopping malls. Nothing specific in mind, just walking around. At some point, I ended up ordering fries and chicken nuggets. Sounds basic, but it was actually really good. Well seasoned, crispy, and one of those small surprises you don’t expect.

Later in the day, we went to Shabuku in Naklua for dinner. This was my first proper Shabu-shabu experience. Sitting around the table, cooking your own food, trying different combinations. It’s not just eating, it’s part of the experience. And since it was all-you-can-eat, we took our time and tried a bit of everything.

After dinner, we walked back home through the warm evening. That’s when I decided to finally try durian. I had been putting it off for a while. The smell alone makes you hesitate. But once I tried it, it surprised me. Soft, creamy, and actually really good. Not for everyone, but I get why people like it.

Looking back, it was a full day of simple things. Coffee, random food stops, a proper dinner, and trying something new. That’s what makes days like this stand out.

If you’re in Pattaya, take a day like this. Don’t plan too much. Just follow the food and see where you end up.
