Today was our last day in Bangkok, and we decided to spend it at Pratunam Market before heading to Pattaya.
We took the BTS to get there. Always a good way to move through Bangkok. From above, you see the traffic, the busy streets, and everything moving below while you just pass through it.
When we arrived at Pratunam, it was exactly what you expect. Busy, crowded, and full of small stalls everywhere.
You don’t really walk in a straight line there. You just move with the flow. Narrow paths, people coming from every direction, vendors calling out, and shops packed next to each other.
Clothes were everywhere. Stacks, racks, piles. Some good quality, some less, but that’s part of it. You look around, compare, and sometimes just buy something without overthinking it.
What stood out most was the energy. Constant movement, constant noise, but not in a negative way. It’s just how the place works.
After walking around for a while, the heat and the crowds start to catch up with you. That’s usually the moment you stop for food.
We found a small place near the market. Nothing special from the outside, but good food. Simple Thai dishes, quick service, and exactly what you need after being in that environment.
Sitting down for a bit makes a big difference. You reset, cool down, and just take a moment before moving again.
After a few hours, we were done. Bags in hand, a bit tired, but satisfied.
From there, we went back to the BTS and continued towards the bus station. Next stop was Pattaya.
That transition always stands out. From the intensity of Bangkok to the more relaxed feeling in Pattaya. Same country, completely different pace.
Looking back, Pratunam wasn’t just about shopping. It’s the experience of being in the middle of it all. The noise, the movement, the mix of people.
It’s chaotic, but in a way that works.
