Today was our last day on Koh Chang. We started early, knowing we didn’t have much time left on the island.
Breakfast felt a bit different this time. Same place, same routine, but knowing we were leaving. Pook the dog was there again, as always. Somehow those small things stick with you.
After packing, we said goodbye to the staff at Cliff Cottage Resort and headed to the harbor. The ferry ride back to Trat was quiet. Just sitting there, watching the island slowly disappear in the distance. It gives you time to think a bit.
Once back on the mainland, we got in the car and started the drive to Pattaya. This part of Thailand is always nice to drive through. Green landscapes, small villages, and just a different pace compared to the city.
We made a stop in Chanthaburi. Not planned in detail, just a break along the way. What stood out was the church. You don’t expect to see something like that here, and it gives the place a different feeling. It shows how mixed and open Thailand can be.
Before continuing, we stopped at a beach nearby for lunch. Simple food, sea view, and a moment to relax before getting back on the road.
By the time we arrived in Pattaya, the city was already in full motion again. To end the day, we went for street food. Pad Krapao and Som Tam. Quick, simple, and always good. Eating outside, surrounded by the noise and lights of the city, felt like a complete contrast to the calm of Koh Chang.
Back at the room, we were tired but satisfied. It was a full day. From island life to city energy in just a few hours.
Now it’s time for the next part.
