Today was our first full day in Bangkok together, and I was really looking forward to it. Just being here with Noi already makes it different.
We started the day simple. Breakfast, no rush, then heading out into the city. Our first stop was the BTS. It’s still one of the easiest ways to move around Bangkok. Fast, organized, and it gives you a good view of the city while moving through it.
We went to Wat Pak Nam to see the Big Buddha. When we arrived, it turned out the Buddha was under maintenance, covered in scaffolding. Not ideal, but that’s part of traveling. You don’t always get the perfect timing. We didn’t stay too long, grabbed a coffee nearby, and just moved on.
Next stop was MBK.
If you’ve been there, you know. It’s big. Really big. Floors packed with small shops, electronics, clothes, souvenirs. You can easily lose track of time just walking around. We spent a good part of the afternoon there, just browsing, picking up a few things, and enjoying the atmosphere.
One thing that always stands out is how affordable everything is. You don’t have to think too much before buying something, which makes it more fun. After a while, we stopped for food inside the mall. Plenty of options, and everything smells good. We kept it simple and just enjoyed the moment.
Looking back, it was an easy first day. Nothing rushed, nothing forced. Even with the small disappointment at the temple, it still felt like a good start.
Now I’m just looking forward to what’s next. Bangkok always has more to offer.
